Small Jigsaw Puzzle

Introduction

A few years back I got my first digital camera, a Nikon 950 (replaced by the Nikon 4500).  Recently I decided to try to merge photography with scrollsawing, and came up with puzzles.  (Combine that with my daylily collection and you get scrollsawn puzzles of daylilies :-) )

The following pages describe how I make a simple puzzle.  There is nothing fancy, and I'm definitely NOT a puzzle master!  This is just a simple 5x7, 35 piece puzzle made from 1/8" Baltic birch.  Last month I took several pictures of "landmarks" in Brookhaven, MS.  I'm hoping to be able to sell these as souvenirs at my cousin's shop, The Posey Place.  The goal is a cheap, easy to make puzzle that can be sold at a low price.

Since the picture is simply a 2100x1575 pixel digital image, I also hope to be able to do special orders as well.  We'll see how it all works out.

Meanwhile, let's start the log.  Below are some of the puzzles I've already done.  I use the wooden boxes described in another log.

Ready? We'll start preparing the blanks on the next page.
