Small Jigsaw Puzzle

Paperwork, Part 2

The next step is the box label.  Since it's easy to lose the puzzle pieces (and it needs to be done sometime), I go ahead and pick out a box and label it.

The label mentions the species of wood the box is made from, so I edit the label appropriately.  I then print it out on the laser printer and cut it out with the paper cutter.  I use the "bounding box" and no crop marks on the label.  I cut the label just outside the bounding box.

Next, I sand the box with a "fine" block and a 330 block.

I take the label and test-fit it on the box with the lid all the way in.  Note the where it is in relation to the edges.  I use the same 3M 77 spray adhesive and center it on the box.
Like before, I take one of the scraps of paper and roller to smooth out the label.

About three coats of Deft lacquer helps protect the label.  I also spray the box at this time as well.

I haven't been using the boiled linseed oil/mineral spirits  (BLO) on the boxes; I may try this in the future.

The paperwork is done.  We've got just one more step before we cut: stacking the pictures.  We'll do that on the next page.
