After some fighting with Corel Draw, I did get the Elk pattern converted to a .PDF file. For some reason several of the lines in the pattern “closed” themselves off with extra lines. These lines are not visible in CorelDraw, but kept showing up when you published to PDF. I sketched the pattern and scanned it and imported the bitmap into Corel; then I used the “centerline trace” function to get the lines. Somewhere in here is the bug–probably in the trace function. I ended up redrawing the offending lines by hand and that corrected the problem.
Anyway, the Elk pattern is at this link here. I’m also keeping links to most/all the patterns in the “Patterns from Tuliptree” page so you can get to them easily.
