My First Animal Puzzle!

April 15th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I finally broke down and drew my first animal puzzle. Starting with a public-domain picture of a Hereford bull, I drew/scanned/converted the picture into the animal puzzle. It’s not the best in the world, but you have to start somewhere :-) . Right now the pattern is rather crude, requiring some effort on the scrollsaw to smooth things out a little.

But the pattern this time is all mine–meaning I can distribute it without violating copyright laws :-) !

Your first attempt is a great one, thanks for the pattern.

The two gaps across the bulls back seem to stop the flow of the outline a bit, to my eyes anyway, I’m not sure if that can or should be changed though.

Regardless, I like the pattern and will have a go at cutting it.

Thanks, Spring. I agree about the back; Kinda stuck with the “U”, “L” and “L” though. Maybe I can tilt them a little…

I also plan on putting a little gap between the front legs and the “B”–right now it runs together too much.
