Below are some patterns I’ve come up with. I do retain copyright on the patterns and ask that you do not redistribute the patterns without my permission. The following restrictions apply:
- You may make up to 100 items from each pattern. If you’d like to mass-produce items, please contact me here at Tuliptree Crafts LLC
- You can make the items for personal use, gifts, or for sale
- Please credit Tuliptree Crafts for the pattern
- Feel free to link to the patterns; I’d appreciate that the post containing the link would credit Tuliptree Crafts for the pattern
The links on this page shouldn’t change often (if at all). If they do, I’ll make this known in a post. With the size of hard drives, I don’t anticipate deleting links–instead, I’ll likely copy the files to the new location and leave these where they are. However, patterns may be refined and updated. I’ll try to leave the old version, but please update links to the new version. I’ll notify folks about updates in a regular blog post.
So, now to the patterns!
Scottie Pot Ornament

Scottie Pot Ornament
A quick and easy Scottie to keep your plants company. Cut out of any rot-resistant wood.
The Evealle

The Evealle is my first foray into merging beads and woven boxes. This is a simple pattern, though to get good result it does require precise cutting along the corners. However, like most scrollsaw weave patterns, the actual weaves are quite forgiving.

Elk Animal Puzzle

This is my second animal puzzle pattern. I made it in anticipation of the Centerville 4th of July Show–The Centerville Elks.
Bull Animal Puzzle

This pattern is my first attempt at an animal puzzle. This type of puzzle was originated by Jim Sweet, who owns the trademark “woodimals”. Another designer is Harvey Byler. I plan on updating this plan as my skills get better.

Buckeye Butterfly Pattern

This is my second attempt at a butterfly (The dragonfly was my first). I tried to emphasize the four circles on each wing. I also drew a new, more realistic body for the butterfly.
(The image above is the first prototype of the sketched pattern; it will be replaced later with a newly-cut version)
Buckeye Butterfly (Junonia coenia) Pattern Ver 1.0.3
Dragonfly Pattern

This pattern was inspired by the butterfly patterns with angled wings. I drew this after I had several people look around at the butterflies and ask for a dragonfly. Although delicate-looking, the wings are surprisingly strong.

I really like your dragonfly and butterfly magnets. What a wonderful way to use those small pieces of BB. I have made 4 or 5 of the dragonflys for friends and even tho they don’t want their frige. cluttered, they love these and want one.

Thanks, Fran! I’m glad to hear some folks are enjoying the patterns. Feedback on making them better is always welcome.
As I tell everyone, if you’ve got a picture of something you’ve made from one of my patterns, let me know & we’ll post it here.

Hi,
I am still rather new to scrolling. I have downloaded and cut out the dragonfly from your pattern. May I ask how you hold the wings on while the glue dries? Thanks for sharing these nice patterns……..

Gary, originally I made a jig to prop up the wings until the glue set. Lately I’ve put Arlene’s Tacky Glue on the wing and a couple of dots of a gel-type cyanoacrylate (”super glue”) on the body. Press the two together, hold for 10-15 seconds, and they’re usually set. Don’t use too much cyanoacrylate or the joint won’t set. Just 2-3 dots should do it.

Hi kofte,
Thanks for the info, I was unaware of super glue gel working on wood. The wings attached great.
