Day two was quite different. Instead of animal puzzles running away with the totals, it was more like previous shows: half animal puzzles, the rest divided by the bookmarks and butterfly magnets, with a few other items rounding out the totals. Revenue was roughly half the first day as well.
Comparing the overall totals to the [...]

Beavercreek Popcorn Festival 2009, Day #1
September 12th, 2009 · No Comments
Not too bad. Not as good as some in the past, but those included some big-ticket items (moderately expensive clocks), so can’t complain. We’re ahead of were we where at Kettering last week, but we also had better weather and a longer day. Folks were looking all the way to the end today.
Animal puzzles were [...]

Beavercreek Popcorn Festival, Prep
September 11th, 2009 · No Comments
Got the trailer stashed in the Krogers parking lot, and everything is unstrapped and ready to unload. I only made 20 of the planned 33 puzzles this week (see previous post ), but that’s better than none-at-all! I’ll have the saw at this show, and will hopefully get a bit done, including a special [...]

Animal Puzzles at the Popcorn Festival
September 9th, 2008 · 3 Comments
I mentioned that Animal Puzzles made up more than half the revenue at the 2008 Beavercreek Popcorn Festival. I entered in the Cash Register info and notes, and tried to make sense of what sold–I need to know what to concentrate on. Beavers obviously sold, but that really doesn’t count as that was a [...]

Beavercreek Popcorn Festival 2008–The Booth
September 9th, 2008 · No Comments
I finally go the pictures downloaded from the camera tonight. Here’s some pictures of the booth we had at the Popcorn Festival.
These first two are of the booth right after we set up. The color is a little off, as I had the white balance set wrong. I also played with the [...]

First Impressions–Beavercreek Popcorn Festival 2008
September 8th, 2008 · 2 Comments
I don’t have access to the cash register or pictures right now, but I thought I’d give my first impressions of this weekends Popcorn Festival.
Crowds: Not as thick as some in the past, but not too sparse either. Folks were in a buying mood, but for only relatively inexpensive items. I didn’t sell anything over [...]

Beavercreek Popcorn Festival 2008, Day 2
September 7th, 2008 · No Comments
Another long day, another quick post . The second day wasn’t as profitable as the first, but it wasn’t bad. Part of my problem was lack of stock (a continuous problem, it seems). Most of the butterflies sold on saturday, as did the popular animal puzzles. However, I sold two of the beaded trays, [...]

Beavercreek Popcorn Festival

….starts tomorrow. I’ve just finished packing the trailer, and am about to go to sleep. I have to be there by 0600 to start setting up.
I may get a quick report in tomorrow night, but this is a “hard” show–long hours for two days. Hopefully it will be a profitable show.

New Beaver
September 1st, 2008 · 2 Comments
I recently ordered several new animal puzzle patterns from Wooden Teddybear. This is the first one I’ve cut. I wasn’t going to do any until after the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival, but I thought it might be nice to have a second type of beaver available. It was more complicated than most of [...]

Beavers, Beavers, Beavers
August 28th, 2008 · No Comments
The Beavers finally took their oil bath….along with a stray mule.
I’m going to stop at 5 beavers. I should have enough with the ones I had left over. It would be very nice to run out though.
