Slatboard #1 Complete

April 5th, 2010 · 1 Comment

…and #2 getting there.

Here is a picture of the finished slatboard and stand. I’m going to put some more braces on the back, but it’s essentially complete in this picture:
I’ve also got some hangers holding up the clocks, and also have made a few sign holders.  The white rectangle is a 3″x5″  piece of 1/8″ [...]

Slatboards Finished

March 31st, 2010 · No Comments

I finished up one slatboard and while at it, made another one.  That will give me two slatboards, each 2′ x 4′.  One still needs painting; the other is drying.  Now to figure out the best way to mount them for use! I do have some ideas…

Artistry in Wood 2009 Results

November 17th, 2009 · No Comments

Finally got around to doing the spreadsheet tonight.  Overall sales still roughly fit  the pattern (50% puzzles/30% butterflies/20% bookmarks is the norm), though bookmarks actually made more revenue (24%) than the butterflies (18%).  Animal Puzzles held in there at 52%.  The remaining 6% was from a 8″ dog clock.
The two days were a bit different, [...]

New Earring Display

October 21st, 2009 · No Comments

When I got the revolving pegboard display, I went ahead and got a earring display as well. It was only about $25, and no additional shipping. I found the earring cards (Finally! Took a bit of searching), and put a few earrings on them.  Here is the display, followed by a close-up of the earrings:

Revolving Bookmark Display

October 19th, 2009 · No Comments

After one show, I’d say it was worth it.  Several folks were caught in the act of turning it around, looking at the bookmarks . The biggest improvement it gives is the ability to cram more types of bookmarks on the table. I still need the bookmarks out of the bags so folks can [...]

Bookmark Display, First Test

October 17th, 2009 · 6 Comments

It was a slow day, but I was watching the revolving bookmark display.  My first impression is that it does work.  I saw several folks twirling it around.  Possible issue:  How to transport the thing, loaded with bookmarks.  It takes up 14″ square of floor space, with the hooks adding on another 5″.  How do [...]

Bookmark Display…and a picture finally!

October 15th, 2009 · 1 Comment

The lazy-susan based pegboard display came in, and I’ve gone ahead and stashed some bookmarks on it.  Stuffing the bookmarks into the plastic bags isn’t all that much fun, but it’s not as bad as I feared it could be.  The pegboard display is black plastic, and takes standard wire hooks.  The configuration in the [...]

Booth Display Idea

October 15th, 2009 · No Comments

One of the readers here sent me an email with some ideas on revolving displays. I’m leaving his name off, since I don’t know if he wants it made public or not, but I thought his info would be useful.
When I was doing a lot of craft shows I found a revolving display had a [...]

Bookmark Display

October 12th, 2009 · No Comments

I did find something that should work for displaying multiple bookmarks. It’s a revolving pegboard-type display at this link here. It should allow me 24 bookmark stacks per side, or a total of 96. With hooks and signage it runs about $65+ shipping.  I still plan on having several stacks of bookmarks out in the [...]

Bookmark Display thoughts

September 30th, 2009 · No Comments

Looking at the comments, the center hole for hanging the bookmarks looks like a no-go.  For the display, I’d really like to stick to standard parts (think “pegs”) as much as possible:  The design of the part has already been debugged, and it’s much cheaper (read labor costs!) to purchase then try to make my [...]
