We took Jenny to Southern Seminary today–and got a taste of Louisville rush-hour traffic. This may mean I’ll have to take her down, and that will cut out saw time. But priorities are still priorities.
Anyway, it was too late to do anything on the saw tonight, but I did get downloadable pattern files on the [...]

Updating Tuliptree
December 22nd, 2009 · No Comments
We’ve been updating the Tuliptreecrafts.com site, tweaking a few things here and there. We’ve added a couple of items, including the Jenny Tray and some Christmas hanger ornaments. I also added the name-only puzzles, marketing them as a name plate puzzle.
This is still a work-in-progress: I need better pictures of wood for one thing. It’s [...]

Still under attack…
December 21st, 2009 · 2 Comments
Somebody is still trying to infect the tuliptreecrafts.com site with a virus, this time a file called pbot.txt. The malicious files are being run from a server over at netafreelancer.com, and directed from ip 76.73.36.114. I’ve blocked both these addresses, but this brings home the fact that you really, really, really need to look at [...]

What a day!
December 12th, 2009 · No Comments
Not a thing on the scrollsaw–well, I did get a custom dog puzzle ready to cut. I spent the whole day fighting Russians. Somebody from a .ru (Russia) address has been trying to use the eCommerce site to host a phishing attack. Note: If you see a file named “toti.php” on your server, you need [...]

Up & Limping
December 4th, 2009 · No Comments
The server move has not been pleasant. Just ask Jenny….
Anyway, it looks like the websites are up (or you wouldn’t be reading this ), and after a lot of orca-hunting (”whaling”, or wailing) and orthoclashing (”gnashing of teeth”) I’m able to send out a few emails. It’s not up completely, including moving things onto [...]

Up a Little
December 2nd, 2009 · No Comments
The servers are moved, but the internet hasn’t been configured yet. No email, and the webservers are *slooooooow*. Part of that’s because of the ISP config; another part is due to a wireless bridge link that’s also running slow. Hopefully things will be faster tomorrow night…

Moving the servers
December 1st, 2009 · 1 Comment
Comcast is supposed to install the cable internet thursday afternoon. I’ll be taking down the email and web servers for tuliptreecrafts.com as well as scrollsawblog.com. That means this site won’t be available starting tomorrow afternoon until (fingers crossed!) thursday evening. Email should queue up, but the websites will be down.
If Comcast is to be believed, [...]

Working on Infrastructure
November 30th, 2009 · No Comments
We still have relatives visiting, so Tuliptree is taking a back seat. I do have an order for a couple of animal puzzles that I’m using up some sassafras for. The biggest thing going on now is getting ready for the server switch. I just installed a wireless bridge so we can have two ethernets [...]

Takin’ Orders
November 29th, 2009 · No Comments
I left the “Store” option set to on for the eCommerce site of Tuliptree, and I got my first order tonight. To be honest, I intended to return it to “Showcase”–that way it shows the items but doesn’t try to take orders itself. I’m relatively confident about the shipping, but I haven’t touched the sales [...]

Updating the Store
November 27th, 2009 · No Comments
I’ve been updating the eCommerce site tonight. Adding more items, updating some prices, and making the shipping module more realistic. I now also automatically get emails when someone shops there–instead of checking the email logs and seeing if anythings happened. The goal is to actually start taking orders from the web site. Payment will still [...]
